Dawson Named 2017 Grant Recipient

Rayna Kelly Dawson of Santa Fe High School was named by Oklahoma Educators Credit Union as a 2017 Teacher Grant recipient.

Through its annual Teacher Grant Program, Oklahoma Educators Credit Union has impacted countless teachers and students over the years. A total of 63 teachers from 52 different schools across the state of Oklahoma were awarded grants for the 2017-2018 school year. The grants will be used to fund a variety of projects that will enhance hands-on learning for students in pre-k through 12th grade.

“Teachers like Kelly hold the power to create memories for students that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives,” said Cindy White, president and CEO of Oklahoma Educators Credit Union. “We are honored to provide her with the resources to make a difference for her students.”
Dawson’s grant proposal requested funds to purchase a variety of books by Dr. Lilli Nielsen. The books, which focus on an approach known as “Active Learning,” would aid her in working with students who have a wide range of disabilities.
