MCC is hosting, “A Night at the Apollo,” for Black History Month. We need performers! If you want to compete for prizes, pick from the following categories: Wild’n Out Rap Battle, Poetry Slam, and/or Vocalist/Musician. Sign up sheets are in the back hall and outside the cafeterias. If you do not want to perform but want to attend this amazing night with entertainment, mini presentations, and food, pay $2 at the door! This event is open to all!
Attention juniors – Boys State applications are available in the Counseling Office. This is a prestigious leadership opportunity that requires an application and interview in order to attend after school is out for the summer. See Mrs. Hood for further information.

Attention all Sophomores who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale you are eligible for consideration to apply to be a part of National Honor Society. Pick up a blue form outside of room 206 in the west wing. This needs to be turned back with all necessary requirements to either Mr. Harp or Ms. York by February 14th.
Attention Senior and Junior girls! UCO will be hosting its first-ever Black Girl Magic event on Thursday, February 20th, 2020 from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm in the UCO Nigh University Center Ballrooms. The program will include a professional development portion geared toward equipping college students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed after graduation. There will also be a panel discussion and table discussions centered on the experiences of African American women. Topics will address how African American women live their most authentic lives professionally and personally, insight on successfully navigating professional career tracks, and discussion on the dynamics of personal relationships (romantic, family, community) and their impact on African American women. If you are interested, please sign up on the sheet in the counseling office. Only 20 girls can attend. You must have your own transportation and attending this event will count as a college visit. Sophomores and juniors: If you need help with your UCO concurrent application, sign up for a time to meet with a UCO advisor. They will be at Santa Fe on February 20, and the signup sheet is in the counseling office.
Calling all sophomores and juniors who are interested in gaining leadership skills can apply for the
Rotary Youth Leadership Award. Rotary Club of Edmond is sponsoring seven lucky students to participate in a leadership camp this summer in Guthrie Oklahoma from July 10th-14th. Any students interested in applying can come by the counseling office and pick up an application.
